His journey began in Vanadzor, where he led the kitchen of the Sarukhanyans’ iconic restaurant, nestled beside the family-owned bread factory, “Matinyan’s Nshkhar” – a place that once had no equal in the city. Armen’s culinary artistry set new standards, earning admiration for its uncompromising quality, authenticity, and soul.
Chef Armen is also the founder of Angar’s kitchen and a true connoisseur of Armenian cuisine. His deep knowledge of traditional flavors, time-honored techniques, and the cultural essence of Armenian gastronomy make him a truly unique chef.
